Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education, stressed that the decree to stop education in the school as a result of the new Covid 19 mutant, Omicron, has not been taken until that moment, indicating that the decision of the Ministry of Education will not be “if it is taken.”
He spoke that officials of the Ministry of Health and the Crisis Management Committee of the Council of Ministers are responsible for taking the decree to stop education in the school or to determine the appropriate steps according to the health situation in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Minister of Education affirmed on the basis that even if the decision to stop teaching at the school is taken, the Ministry of Education will be committed to offering the appropriate educational service to students during the time, whatever the circumstances.
He continued: “We are acting in consideration of the instructions that come to us from the Ministry of Health, and since the issue of the emergence of the new Covid 19 mutant “Omicron” has not passed much time, so it is too early to take any decision to stop education in the school as a result of the Covid mutant. 19 New Omicron at this moment until the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the Crisis Management Committee are issued.”

The Minister of Education stressed that the school season was facilitated with a clear regularity from the first day, as everyone is committed to the precautionary controls established by the Ministry of Health to combat the spread of Covid 19 in schools in the interest of everyone's health.
He stressed that the vaccination of 98% of teachers and administrators working in the educational system has been completed, and students from 15 to 18 years of age are currently being vaccinated in all schools.
The Minister of Education explained that cooperation is underway with the Ministry of Health to transport school students by buses to vaccination headquarters, in order to obtain the Pfizer vaccine in a systematic manner for the largest possible number of students.
