Initially introduced in 2020, this specific model was unveiled in February 2023, boasting various configurations, all of which come with a substantial price tag. At the time of review, the most affordable option stood at £2299 in the UK and $2049 in the US. The top-tier version we evaluated was priced at $3,549/£3699.

In terms of design, the Dell XPS 17 boasts an aluminum lid and underside, complemented by a carbon fiber weave internally, ensuring durability. Its sleek appearance and slim screen borders lend a modern touch. While it's not the lightest laptop at 2.44kg, its compact dimensions facilitate easy fitting into a standard-sized backpack.

Display-wise, the Dell XPS 17 impresses with its large 4K screen, boasting a 16:10 aspect ratio and delivering excellent color saturation with a peak brightness of 544 nits. However, contrast levels are average, and the blacks might not be as deep as those on OLED screens. Nevertheless, the display remains impressive and suitable for photo editing tasks.

The keyboard is spacious and comfortable to use, although it lacks a dedicated number pad. While the keys may feel slightly mushy, they still provide a satisfying typing experience. Additionally, the laptop features a high-quality glass touchpad and powerful speakers.

In conclusion, the Dell XPS 17 is a premium laptop offering impressive performance and a sleek design. Its capabilities extend to professional tasks, gaming, and multimedia entertainment. However, the higher price range might discourage budget-conscious buyers.
